Pork in oyster sauce with Baguio beans
8:25 AM
I had a no nonsense conversation with hubby yesterday. It's something about blogging and my fears. He doesn't read my blog but he promised, from that moment, he's gonna start on my next post. Okay, scratch that. He didn't actually promise but I know he'll try. This is THAT post. It's not that he doesn't like my blog. He's not just into reading. He gets sleepy daw. He just like to look at the photos.
I wouldn't elaborate much of our discussion but he said it's okay to post food and recipes. And perhaps, it's his most encouraged topic.
Surely,
the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
And,
Cooking food for a man is a good way to win his affections.
I really want to laugh now. Haha!
Anyway...
This pork in oyster sauce with baguio beans is just a variation of my beef with broccoli recipe. I just replaced the beef with pork, the broccoli with beans. Obviously. I didn't blanch the beans but tossed it directly to the meat until it becomes tender.
The result is just WOW! Hubby was surprised when he tasted the dish and likened it to the Japanese dish we sometimes buy from the mall/grocery.

Pork in oyster sauce with Baguio beans
Ingredients
3 tbsp oyster sauce2 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp cornstarch
1/3 cup water
3/4 pork tenderloin, thinly sliced
3 tbsp vegetable oil, plus more if needed
1 thin slice of fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, peeled and smashed
1 lb broccoli, cut into florets
Directions
1. Combine the oyster sauce, sesame oil, water, soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl, and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Marinate the pork for at least 30 minutes and store in the fridge.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat, then toss the pork. Add the ginger. Stir the pork until the meat is no longer pink. Put the garlic and cook for a minute. Add the marinade. Continue stirring until the sauce forms a glaze on the pork.
3. Add the beans and stir until it becomes tender but still crisp.
Serve hot with steaming rice and enjoy!
