Grilled Eggplant in Oyster Sauce
3:50 PMSurely, one of the most important ingredients found in our kitchen is oyster sauce. Why not? You can add even just a tablespoon of oyster sauce to a dish and it'll become flavorful and tasty! Hhhmm, it got me thinking to compile dishes that use oyster sauce. Anyway, try this very simple dish that will only take 5 minutes of your time!
Ingredients:
1 piece egg plant
2 tbsps oyster sauce
2 tbsps water
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp sesame oil
fried minced garlic
Cooking Procedure:
1. Grill the egg plant. Remove the skin and flatten. (Or you may opt not to remove the skin but slice the egg plant. It depends on your preference.) Set aside.
2. Combine the oyster sauce, water, sugar and sesame oil in a pan. Boil until the mixture thickens.
3. Pour the sauce over the egg plant. Sprinkle with minced garlic.
Sooooo easy! You can also use this sauce over slightly cooked kangkong, spinach or bok choy! Enjoy!

Wow! Looks so yum! Another variation for eggplant recipe. Aside from my usual favorite tortang talong, I can add your recipe in my list. Can I just boil talong instead of grilling? So excited to try it this weekend. Thanks for your easy recipe.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think boiled talong should be good as well. Or, you can also try frying it! (Oh, fried talong is better with vinegar and garlic.) Nothing beats the aroma of the grilled one though! Please let me know once you've tried it.
